Welcome from the President, Robert Rund

Welcome to the American Boychoir School.  For over seventy years, The American Boychoir School has celebrated the far-seeing vision of School founder Herbert Huffman, who created not just a school but a model for living.   Our School educates boys during their adolescent years, inspiring in them a desire to practice the character traits of self-discipline, commitment, and respect for others.  These personal habits are as much a part of their life as the study of music theory, math, science, and literature.

But that is not all.  American Boychoir students are given the rare opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of other cultures by performing at venues around the globe.  Their experience contributes to their growth as citizens and increases their repertoire – an eclectic wealth of music that includes sacred masterworks, African-American spirituals, popular songs by Gershwin and the Beatles, patriotic favorites, and new commissioned pieces.

Artistic strength – demonstrated in more than 50 commercial recordings – is matched by the quality of our fully-accredited academic program. Rigorous instruction in English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, Spanish, Computer Technology, and Music Theory is taught in small classes by dedicated faculty members. Our graduates are recruited by the nation’s most selective boarding schools, and those who return to public schools are regularly placed in advanced courses. Schools currently enrolling ABS alumni include Andover, Avon Old Farms, Blair, Choate Rosemary Hall, Concord Academy, Hun, Lawrenceville, Northfield Mount Hermon, Peddie, and St. Paul’s.

Please browse our site, contact us, and explore how The American Boychoir can enrich and change a boy’s life. We urge all those who love the unique Boychoir sound to sample our recordings and review our concert schedule. Finally, we invite our alumni and friends to discover the many ways they can support the ABS mission.
