Welcome to The American Boychoir School’s admissions section!
Since 1937, The American Boychoir School has offered talented boys from across the United States and around the world a unique educational experience and the opportunity to sing in the nation’s leading concert boychoir. Their subsequent success demonstrates that performing great music at the highest professional level has a profound impact on their academic, social and moral development.
Our mission at the American Boychoir School is:
- To build character in young boys and prepare them for good citizenship.
- To provide an exceptional training program for musically talented boys, regardless of their religion, social background or financial circumstances.
- To make this unique opportunity the motivation for general educational attainment.
- To help enrich the cultural life of the nation and to produce a musical organization that is recognized throughout the country as the finest of its kind.
To that end, we recruit and train talented choristers from all over the United States, from every background, to create one of the finest choirs in the world. Our educational program for grades four through eight emphasizes personal values, with a rigorous academic program balanced with intensive musical training. Through their work in the classroom, in the rehearsal room, and on the concert stage, the boys learn self-discipline, teamwork and dedication – values that foster self-worth, community pride and the confidence to face challenges.
