A Unique Opportunity for Boys Who Love To Sing

What is the Apprentice Program?
The Apprentice Program is an after school program which provides local boys the opportunity to receive instruction with the Training Choir of The American Boychoir School. Boys wanting to attend this program need to pass an audition but do not need any type of musical training or preparation to audition, just a love of music. The boys will receive training in music theory and vocal technique to advance their ability to read, understand, and join in the creation of music. It is designed for boys and their families who are considering The American Boychoir School as an option for 4th trough 8th grade.

Who can attend?
The Apprentice Program is open to any boy in grades 3-6 who have passed an audition and who will fulfill the attendance requirements of the program.

What is an audition?
The audition process is simple and supportive. It takes only minutes and there is no preparation needed. Fred Meads, the Director of Vocal Studies, will lead you through the audition process. When and Where?
There are three sessions of the Apprentice Program. One is held in the fall and the others are held in the spring. The fall Introductory Session I runs from October 15 - December 3, 2012, with rehearsals on Mondays, and a final performance on December December 10, 2012. There are also two sessions offered in the spring; the spring Intermediate Session runs from March 4 - May 6, 2013, with rehearsals on Mondays, and a final performance on May 11, 2013. The second Introductory Session II runs from March 6 - May 8, 2013, with rehearsals on Wednesdays, ending with a final performance on May 11, 2013. Rehearsals are held on Mondays or Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Please note, once signed up, attendance will be required.

What are the fees?
Fall tuition is $350.00 for 8 sessions. Spring tuition is $350.00 for 8 sessions.
